Early Life and Education

Ram Manohar Lohia was born on March 23, 1910, in Akbarpur, Uttar Pradesh, to a Marwari Bania family.

His mother passed away when he was just two years old, and he was raised by his father, Hiralal. Lohia received his early education in Mumbai and later attended Banaras Hindu University.

Lohia pursued his higher studies at the University of Frederick William in Berlin, Germany (today known as Humboldt University).
